Woven in response to Van Gogh’s painting Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background, this piece was made by hand in South London, and was inspired by traditional Swedish ripsmatta rag rugs.
When designing textiles, Sabine searches for weave structures and motifs lost to history and industrialisation, and unearths them as part of a project of 'textile archaeology', hereby exploring the role of the textile as heirloom, and the threads that connect us through time.
