Throughout his life, nature and gardening were sources of not only creative impetus, but also great personal enjoyment for the romantic Van Gogh. He writes about gardening throughout his life, and specifically about the flowers he planted at our garden in 87 Hackford Road.
"I’m doing a lot of gardening and have sown sweet peas, poppies and reseda, now we just have to wait and see what comes of it."
Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo
"I’m painting with the gusto of a Marseillais eating bouillabaisse, which won’t surprise you when it’s a question of painting large Sunflowers"
In letter, Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo van Gogh

We have curated a selection of Van Gogh's most beloved flowers and plants from London-based heritage seeds merchant Thomas Etty. The seeds of these historical 19th century breeds we have chosen have been carefully bred and preserved so they are exactly the same as when Van Gogh would have had them!
Cyanotypes of the flowers themselves, the packages have been designed by Katy Angus and Joe Mercer in our signature blue.
All the seeds come with bio-degradable paper packages with planting directions.
Types of Seeds:
1. 19th Century Sweet Pea
2. Heritage Sunflowers
3. Corn Poppies
Each package contains around 20 seeds.
