Our world has become fast-paced, and our sense of time has shortened as information
becomes instantly accessible. Through the repetitive action of needlepoint, Camilla Bliss
explores the stillness found in hours of soft light - a moment when we naturally slow down and allow our minds to drift into new celestial realms. In deep sleep, neural pathways glow like constellations woven across the night sky - a reminder of the quiet inner landscapes we access when the world finally slows.

Van Gogh had a lifelong fascination with forms of illumination, from the stars above to the
newly invented gaslight. The hypnotic pull of glowing, illuminated spaces draws us into portals of altered reality. In this pixelated tapestry, a meditative state emerges - a place where worlds transcend and boundaries soften.

About the Artist

Camilla Bliss regularly draws on motifs found in historical craftsmanship, myth and folklore to communicate ideas about the modern world. Using a wide range of materials such as ceramics, metalwork, glass, and textiles, Bliss is interested in how we navigate the world through alternate states of being. She studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2021. As well as winning the Yorkshire Sculpture Park graduate award 21, she was shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture award and the Ingram prize 2022. Exhibitions include The Turner Contemporary, Margate, The Royal Academy and the Saatchi Gallery, London.
