About the Artist

Henrietta MacPhee is an artist whose practice is centred on clay. Blending the visual and tangible, she creates entertaining illusions and a sense of complexity that traverses the border between 2D and 3D. Through a fresh perspective of the world, she portrays scenes of poetic tenderness and humour, interweaving metaphors for embracing life’s diversity of peoples and their cultures.

Henrietta graduated in 2017 and currently works from her railway arch studio in south London. Her work has been selected for exhibitions throughout the UK and abroad. In 2023, she was awarded the London Regional Prize at the ING Discerning Eye and in 2024, she was awarded the Black Swan Open Art Prize 2024 sponsored by Hauser and Wirth.
