These works focus on the plate as a primary form—an object situated between the functional, decorative and sculptural. By drawing directly into ceramic surfaces using materials sourced from the land, including soil oxides, plant ashes, clays and rocks, they aim to fuse image and form into a single, integrated object. These materials carry geographical and material histories that anchor the work to a sense of place, reflecting my ongoing negotiation between the natural world and urban living.
The motifs within these pieces remain intentionally open, rather than presenting definitive narratives, they aim to operate as sites for projection and reflection. The plates occupy an ambiguous space, maintaining the familiarity of domestic objects while functioning simultaneously as sculptural and pictorial works.
Through this duality, the work examines how everyday forms can hold both tactile immediacy and contemplative potential. Works simultaneously at ease on the wall, the dinner table or in the cupboard.

About the Artist
Jake Fisk is a London-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice is grounded in process and the exploration of emotional and sensory experiences. Working primarily with clays, stone, and pigment, Fisk uses materiality as a language to explore personal memory, relationship to the body and symbolism. His pieces shift between sculpture and drawing, engaging with the spaces they occupy and inviting the viewer into an intimate interaction with texture, form, and surface. His works are reactive, evolving through a continuous dialogue of material, imagery and process reflecting upon both a physical and emotional experience of a shared history and our current time.
