Table Cairn is a collection of small works by Liz Middelton that explore a relationship between the natural anthropomorphic spirit of stone, with interruptions of paint, graphite and metal leaf.
Created as a loose reimagined cairn of individual characters, each form’s balance and texture is intuitively choreographed. These pocket landscapes are activated by light, and curation, and play with our perception of scale, as both decorated objects and compressed terrain to explore.
limestone and gold leaf, copper leaf, graphite or acrylic
4/18 pieces of various sizes (6 - 11 cm height)
